Bexar County Arts Internship Program

2017 was theArtsFund's 5th year to be honored to administer this program for Bexar County. Bexar County Commissioner's Court provides the funds, theArtsFund manages the program.

Ten non-profit arts organizations were selected according to strict criteria, by a committee comprised of ArtsFund  Board members and Bexar County representatives to receive a $3,500 grant to pay summer interns. The selected organizations recruit and hire currently enrolled undergraduate college students who are Bexar County residents for 10 weeks over the summer.

The internship provides undergraduate students meaningful on the job training and experience working with a nonprofit arts organization and foster future leaders and advocates for the arts sector in Bexar County. The interns express how this experience has built their knowledge and confidence to eventually enter the career world in their chosen profession. Selected students will develop a closer understanding of how the arts benefit their community along with real world applications of business skills that can be applied to their future careers.
